PDFs are designed to look the same everywhere, which is exactly what makes them hard to edit — there's no simple "click and retype" the way there is in a word processor. Converting to Word gives you back a document you can actually revise: fix a typo, update a figure, or repurpose a report into a new one.

This tool requires the site's backend conversion service (see technical notes for site owner). It performs true server-side conversion rather than a client-side approximation, which is what makes the output reliable.

For best results, start with PDFs that were originally created from a text document (Word, Google Docs, etc.) rather than scanned paper — those convert with the highest fidelity.
